Ozocerite in Almaty

A natural hydrocarbon from the petroleum group, alternatively classified as belonging to the group of petroleum bitumens. It is a mixture of high-molecular-weight solid saturated hydrocarbons (typically consisting of 85-87% carbon and 13-14% hydrogen). In consistency, it resembles beeswax and has the odor of kerosene.
